Contact
I encourage you to contact me to talk about psychotherapy. I offer a free initial phone session (5-15mns) when we discuss your concerns, questions you may have about my practice, my fees, your insurance coverage or self-pay.
The best way to contact me is by phone at 617-595-8570 or by email at c_herot@yahoo.com. Please feel free to leave a message and I will generally respond within 24-48 hours.

Due to the covid-19 pandemic, I no longer offer in-person sessions. Instead, I offer teletherapy sessions via doxy.me (doxy.me/drherot) and other video-conferencing platforms.

Fees
Free initial phone session (5-15mns)
Please contact me at c_herot@yahoo.com for information about my fee for an initial evaluation session and subsequent individual sessions.

Insurance

Please be aware that I do not contract with any insurance companies (in other words, I am not an in-network provider) and therefore, if you plan on using your insurance to cover psychotherapy sessions, please make sure you have a PPO or POS plan with your insurance carrier  (BCBS, AETNA, HARVARD PILGRIM, TUFTS, CIGNA etc.). I am not an HMO provider.

Please make sure that your PPO or POS insurance plan covers teletherapy sessions before scheduling any session with me.
If you have a PPO or POS plan that covers teletherapy sessions, your health insurance policy should partially or fully reimburse the services of an out-of-network licensed psychologist. Please call your insurance to find out what specific plan you have, and ask them where you should send the receipt I will give you, so your insurance can reimburse you directly.  You will be paying me directly (I accept checks or cash) and I will provide you with a receipt that you submit to your insurance.
When you call your insurance, I encourage you to ask the following questions:

-         Does my plan cover teletherapy sessions with an out-of-network psychologist?
-         Do I have out-of-network mental health coverage? Is my plan a PPO plan?
-         Is there a deductible?
-         What is my co-payment/co-insurance?
-         How many sessions per year do I have?
-         Do I need a pre-authorization or referral?
